With La forêt qui marche [The walking forest], the last part of a triptych that is freely inspired from Macbeth, Christiane Jatahy proposes new variations on theatre, cinema and the relationship to the public, on the edge of visual art. The Brazilian stage director uses from Shakespearian tragedy the theme of extreme power that she develops through infinite mirror games. Immersed in an important video installation, the public moves about until it becomes “spect-actor” of an event where reality and fiction are intertwined: live performance and projected images, contemporary catastrophes and drama from the past...
