From a duo to a trio, there is only a pas de deux. While Iskio invented a new language of movement to tell us a story of encounters, Afastado em, “far inside” in Portuguese, creates links between genres - flamenco, contemporary dance and krump - to decode femininity. The choreographer Johanna Faye rocks our species and escapes from the pretty confinement of Woman to distort our (too) common preconceptions. Flamenco majesty, contemporary ambivalence and masterful inwardness of krump drag out our social animality.
